  • RCTC I-215 Placentia Interchange - Construction Update September 25, 2020

    Construction Update:
    September 25, 2020
There are no planned closures of lanes on I-215 near Placentia Ave. or on E. Frontage Rd. for the weeks of September 28 and October 5, 2020.
Work will continue to take place behind a protective concrete barrier along E. Frontage Rd. We remind motorists to slow through the construction zone and watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the work area.

    Project Progress
In just the first couple of months of construction, crews have been making good progress on the new realignment of E. Frontage Rd. The realignment is the first step in creating the space needed to build the new I-215 Placentia Interchange. Check out the September 2020 drone video!
    About the Project
Located between Ramona Expressway to the north and Nuevo Road to the south, the I-215 Placentia Interchange is designed to meet the needs of the area’s growing population. The project will add northbound and southbound ramps, realign East Frontage Road, widen the Placentia overcrossing, and add lanes from Harvill Avenue to Indian Avenue. RCTC expects to open the interchange in summer 2022.
This interchange is Construction Contract #1 of RCTC’s Mid County Parkway Project, which will provide a new 16-mile east-west route between Perris and San Jacinto.
