  • City of Perris Announces Application Period for Motlagh Scholarship Foundation

    PERRIS, Calif. (February 18, 2025) – The City of Perris is pleased to announce that the Motlagh Scholarship Foundation is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. The application period runs from January 1, 2025, through March 31, 2025.

    The Motlagh Scholarship Foundation is dedicated to supporting the educational aspirations of Perris residents. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and commitment to furthering their education.

    Applicant Criteria:

    • Graduating 12th-grade high school students or students transferring from a two-year postsecondary institution residing in incorporated Perris.
    • Majoring in engineering, sciences, or a related field.
    • Achieving a minimum weighted GPA of 3.50 or above.
    • Providing proof of enrollment and registration at an accredited college or university.

    Application Requirements:

    1. Completed Application
    2. Personal Essay
    3. Proof of City of Perris Residency
    4. Proof of College Acceptance, Enrollment, and Registration
    5. Copy of High School Unofficial Transcripts
    6. List of Extracurricular Activities, Community Service Hours, etc.
    7. List of Honors and Awards
    8. Two Letters of Recommendation

    Interested applicants can find detailed information about eligibility criteria, application requirements, and submission guidelines on the City's official website www.cityofperris.org/scholarships. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2025, to be considered.

    The City is also hosting an Application Workshop on February 19, 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Statler Youth Center
