    Dr. Edwin Gomez

    Dear Community Members,

In October, I shared an exciting update about our commitment to leading a countywide initiative on Foster Youth Success—-a mission we approach with strong ambition and dedication to ensure better outcomes for foster youth in education, well-being, and community support. As part of this initiative, we are thrilled to announce our annual Winter Wonderland events. This year, the event in Riverside will take place on December 7, and the event in Indio will follow on December 14. These celebrations bring the magic of the holidays to our foster, homeless, and near-homeless youth and their families through gifts, activities, and access to essential services. Please see the details below for locations and more information on the opportunity to volunteer with us.

As we prepare for these meaningful celebrations this winter, we are inspired by the opportunity to bring hope and joy to those we serve. This season reminds us that leadership is not just about guiding others, but also about uplifting our communities through acts of kindness and support. By embracing generosity and service, we reaffirm our shared commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of others and invite you to join us in spreading hope this holiday season.

    In gratitude,

    Edwin Gomez, Ed.D.
    Riverside County
    Superintendent of Schools
