November 18, 2024Two weeks away! Small Business Saturday is November 30, a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. On Wednesday, Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman traveled to Dayton to celebrate the opening of Ohio’s very first Veterans Business Outreach Center. Administrator Guzman also highlighted veteran-owned small business growth, including the historic rate of new business applications and increased SBA lending to small businesses.Next week is Global Entrepreneurship Week, a celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship across the world. There are more than 34 million small businesses in the United States and SBA has resources including funding, mentoring, counseling, training, and contracting assistance that can help entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.
Last month, SBA announced that it has exhausted funds for its disaster loan program after warnings that funding would soon run out following increased demand from Hurricane Helene.SBA’s loan application portal remains open, SBA’s disaster centers and in-person staff remain deployed across the country, and the agency will continue to accept new applications and ready borrowers to get their disaster loan offers as soon as possible -- once Congress appropriates funds.
