  • Perris Valley Woman’s Club and Inland Empire Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Association Host 2nd Annual First Responders Local Heroes Luncheon

    Perris, CA – The Perris Valley Woman’s Club and the Inland Empire Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Association proudly cohosted the 2nd Annual First Responders Local Heroes Luncheon on Monday, January 27th, at the Cesar Chavez Library in Perris, California. The event celebrated the dedication and service of local first responders, bringing the community together in appreciation of their hard work and sacrifice.

    The luncheon featured distinguished guest speakers, including Division Chief John Crater of CalFire in Temecula and Captain LeeVale Butler of The Salvation Army Perris. Both speakers shared insights into their roles and the challenges faced by first responders in the region.

    Members of the Perris Valley Woman’s Club prepared a delicious meal for all attendees, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. As a token of gratitude, Chief Crater and Captain Butler were each presented with a plaque and certificates of recognition from Senator Cervantes. Additionally, Chief Crater received a handmade quilt to provide comfort during long nights on the front lines, along with snickerdoodle cookies. Captain Butler was also gifted snickerdoodles and received a $100 donation from the Woman’s Club to support the Salvation Army’s ongoing efforts in the community.

    A special acknowledgment was given to Shirley Crater, a dedicated member of the Perris Valley Woman’s Club and mother of Chief Crater, for her contributions to the event. The Perris Valley Woman’s Club and the Inland Empire Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Association extend their heartfelt gratitude to all attendees and supporters who helped make the luncheon a success.
