Park Clean-Up Day (Community Service Day)
Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/335265557363122/ We need your help! Our local wildlife can get injured from trash like fishing lines left lying on the beach. In honor of Earth Day, we want to clean-up and prepare for the summer season ahead. Join State Park staff for this guided clean-up event. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. EARN UP TO THREE HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE When: Saturday, September 14th, 8am-11am Meeting Location: Parking lot 8 near the restrooms Cost: Free—volunteers receive free entrance. Just let the gate staff know that you are here for the Park Clean Up event. Difficulty: Easy Trail Type: You can choose the paths you would like to take. Within the area there are paved trails, dirt paths, and loose sand. Strollers: Strollers should be fine on the paved paths. Dogs: Yes on paved paths only. Please remember, dogs are not permitted on the sandy beach areas. Dog must be under the control of the owner at all times and on a 6ft maximum leash. Recommendations: Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a bottle of water. A hat and sunscreen are also recommended.
